October 11 1986 – Renée Edwards-Ambrose’s was born to Mignonette Richards-Edwards from Liberta Village and Rupert Edwards from North Street.
Renée was destined to step outside ordinary expectations from day one. Upon completion of her secondary education at the Antigua Girls High School, she enrolled in the Antigua State College’s Engineering Department where she successfully completed Automotive Engineering certification in 2005.
She undertook further studies to enhance her technical competencies to include: a Professional Pilot Program (2006) at the Centennial College/Durham Flight Center in Canada; Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Technology 2011 (Art Williams and Harry Wendt Aeronautical Engineering School, Guyana); Aerospace Inspection Training and related courses (2013 -14); and a Professional Diploma in Project Management & Leadership (Shaw Academy 2020).
Ms. Edwards-Ambrose is a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Amateur Racecar Driver, Motorsports Administrator, Automotive Educator, Social Influencer, Podcaster, Television Talk Show Host, Blogger, Author, Plus Model, Mentor, Keynote Speaker and Entrepreneur.
She is the Founder and CEO of the Caribbean’s 1st All Female Drag Racing Team, LHF Motorsports nee Lady Horsepower Farm. The team mainly consists of women who are passionate about motorsports. As an organization, Lady Horsepower Farm aims to give back to the community and is deeply passionate about youth development and women empowerment initiatives. The team has represented Antigua & Barbuda at drag racing events around the Caribbean. She currently serves as the Executive Secretary for the Antigua and Barbuda Drag Racing Association.
Her company, inREAlyfe Group, is a leadership and personal branding agency that prides itself in helping professionals uncover, optimize, and grow their personal and corporate brands.
Renée is lead on ground breaking initiative, The LadyMex Workshop. The LadyMex (Lady Mechanics) Workshop is an interactive and fun way to learn all about your car, how to talk to mechanics and what to do in the event of an emergency geared specially, though not exclusive to women.
Renée also spearheads the YTD Cricket Club project where the tap line is, “Turning Great People into Greater Cricketers.” The club’s major goal is to provide opportunities to play, support and watch cricket. Enjoyment is the club’s main goal. YTD Cricket Club will provide the facilities, equipment, and fellowship which only a team sport can offer
Apart from excelling in a male-dominated environment, Renée loves fashion and modelling. She won both inaugural Carnival Plus Model International 2014 in Trinidad and Tobago and Curvy Idol Competition in Atlanta Georgia in February 2015.
In 2020, Renee created a podcast “REAlyfe Driven Conversations”, where she interviews ambitious and DRIVEN women who have proven that with hard work, persistence and a whole lot of sass, POWERFUL WOMENARE PRODUCED. Her most notable award is the Woman of Wadadli (WOW) Award for Sports and Athletics by the Ministry of Social Transformation, Human Resource Development, and Youth &Gender Affairs in recognition for her outstanding contributions to the socio-economic development of Antigua and Barbuda.
Renée is also a member is the Lions Club of Antigua where she serves as the club’s Tail Twister.
