Sacha Michael continues to set the benchmark in Softball Cricket through disciplined leadership and an unwavering commitment to team success.
As Captain of Wayne’s Electrical Services Survivors, she anchors her team both strategically and emotionally. Calm under pressure and decisive in critical moments, Sacha guides with clarity and confidence, shaping not only game plans but also the squad’s culture.
2025 stands as one of the most successful in the club’s history. Under Sacha’s captaincy, the Survivors captured two championship titles, a testament to preparation, unity, and sustained competitive focus.
Her ability to read the game, adjust tactics, and keep her teammates motivated during high-pressure stretches proved central to both victories. The season reflected more than talent. It reflected collective belief.

While statistics tell part of the story, Sacha’s greatest impact is her leadership. She understands that cricket is built on communication, trust, and shared responsibility. Her steady presence has strengthened team chemistry and raised performance standards across the board.
Reflecting on the year, she describes it as Great. Free from major setbacks, she was able to channel her full attention toward performance and captaincy. The result was a season defined by fulfilment and championship success.
Having been nominated several times before, Sacha views this recognition as deeply meaningful, especially for her team. For her, any individual honour represents collective effort. It belongs as much to the players who train alongside her as it does to her leadership.
If named Sportswoman of the Year, she says the pride would be shared with her club members. Such recognition would spotlight not only her achievements but also the strength, unity, and excellence of her club within Antigua and Barbuda’s sporting landscape.
Through consistency, teamwork, and strong leadership, Sacha Michael continues to leave a lasting imprint on Softball Cricket.
The 2025 National Sports Awards ceremony is scheduled for March 1, 2026 at American University under the theme “Celebrating Excellence in Sports.”
At last year’s 32nd edition, Tyra Fenton of the Antigua and Barbuda Athletic Association secured the Junior Sportswoman of the Year title, while Jewel Andrew of the Antigua and Barbuda Cricket Association claimed Junior Sportsman of the Year honours. In the senior categories, IFBB Pro Bikini Fitness Ambassador Kimberly Percival earned her fifth Sportswoman of the Year title, and West Indies cricketer Alzarri Joseph captured his third Sportsman of the Year award.
As a new class of nominees prepares to gather, the stage is once again set to honour achievement, resilience, and the athletes who continue to elevate Antigua and Barbuda at home and abroad.
