Jassania Joseph -2025 Volleyball National Sports Award Nominee

Jassania Joseph, at 20 years old,  continues to elevate her volleyball career through discipline, resilience, and consistent high-level performance. A powerful and intelligent Middle Blocker, she is known for her commanding presence at the net, sharp timing, and ability to change the momentum of a match with critical blocks and decisive attacks.

In 2024, prior to departing for York University, Jassania was nominated for Sportswoman of the Year, a recognition of her growing impact and leadership in the sport. Building on that momentum, she began 2025 as a key contributor for Da Squad, helping lead the team to victory in the Antigua and Barbuda Women’s Volleyball League championship.

Her outstanding performances throughout the year earned her the prestigious title of Volleyballer of the Year 2025, solidifying her status as one of the top athletes in her sport.

Last September, Jassania began her scholarship athlete journey at York University, smoothly transitioning to university-level competition. She quickly made her mark by earning Player of the Game honours twice, a testament to her adaptability, skill, and competitive drive at a higher level of play.

Winning Volleyballer of the Year represents the culmination of years of early mornings, intense training sessions, sacrifices, and perseverance. It reflects Jassania’s commitment to continuous growth and her determination to perform at her highest standard every time she steps onto the court.

As she now awaits the results for Sportswoman of the Year, Jassania views the possibility as both humbling and motivating. Whether or not she claims the title, the recognition itself affirms that her dedication and sacrifices have not gone unnoticed. For her, success is not measured only in awards but in growth, character, and the impact she has on her teammates and the sport.

With a strong foundation already established and a promising university career underway, Jassania Joseph’s journey continues to inspire, and her best is still ahead.

The 2025 National Sports Award ceremony is slated for March 1, 2026. Last March at the 32nd edition of the National Sports Award, Bikini Fitness Pro Ambassador Kimberly Percival captured her fifth Sportswoman of the Year title while West Indies cricketer Alzarri Joseph walked away with his third Sportsman of the Year title.
