Ge’Eve Philip: From Baby Eve to Caribbean Queen
January 13, 2006 – Antigua gave birth to a voice that would grow with Carnival itself.
Long before she ever stepped onto a senior Monarch stage, Ge’Eve Philip was already part of the culture. Raised in a musical family, she absorbed rhythm the way some children absorb language. But even then, courage had to come first. At age seven, she found the confidence to perform publicly, and from that moment, the child known to the nation as Baby Eve was born.
She entered the Junior Calypso Competition with “Say A Prayer’ and never looked back. By the time her childhood years ended, she had stepped into the newly added Junior Soca Monarch category and accumulated more than a dozen Junior titles, joining the select list of decorated junior performers in Carnival’s record and certainly in recent memory.

But Ge’Eve’s story was never meant to stop at childhood.
The Courage to Grow
In 2022, at 16 years old, she made one of the boldest moves a young artist can make: she stepped out of the safety of the junior arena and into the unforgiving world of senior competition. Her move set off wagging tongues and even fear among some of her seniors who, though well-seasoned in the calypso craft, threw unfounded reasons to halt her stride.

Undaunted, Baby Eve morphed into Ge’Eve, claiming her right to “Grow Up’ with an entry and a finalist slot in the Soca Monarch that year. It was more than a name change. It was a declaration of identity. She created a stir throughout the entire season, moving through the Calypso Tent and on to the Calypso Finals, where she reached First Runner-up, making it clear in her social commentary that “Small But Meh Tallawah.” She made history as one of the youngest competitors ever to reach the finals of the senior Calypso Monarch.
A Voice for a Generation
Ge’Eve has been clear that her music was not just entertainment, it is a mission. Back in 2022, she declared, “I want to be the voice for the youth. I want to initiate a legacy that will live on.” She describes Carnival not just as a festival, but as something you grow with, a living expression of identity across generations. Her songs speak to growth, confidence, and belonging.
The Year She Became a Queen

If 2022 was her arrival, 2025 was her coronation.
At just 18 years old, entering adulthood with a microphone in one hand and history in the other, Ge’Eve delivered a stunning run:
- Antigua and Barbuda Calypso Monarch 2025
- Leeward Islands Calypso Monarch 2025
- Queens of Queens 2025 – 1st Runner-Up
She had moved from junior prodigy to Caribbean champion.
More Than Music
Beyond the stage, Ge’Eve is known for her distinctive, polished, titillating fashion sense. A natural style icon, she understands that artistry is as much visual as vocal. In the digital era, she presents herself as both a performer and a brand.
